Surgery

At Warners Bay Vet we understand even routine surgery can be a stressful time for both owners and their pets. In an endeavour to minimise these feelings we have developed practices and procedures to give a clear understanding and keep owners informed and pets comfortable during this process.

Our Veterinarians’ high level of expertise and the practices’ fully equipped surgical suite allow us to perform the vast majority of surgical procedures that your pet may require. These procedures include routine de-sexing, biopsies, tumour removal, skin laceration repairs, foreign body removal and abdominal surgery- the list is endless. The clinic is also well equipped to offer more complicated procedures including cruciate surgery, bone fracture repair, patella luxation and brachycephalic airway correction to name a few.

All animals having a gaseous anaesthetic at Warners Bay Vet will be placed on intravenous fluids during their procedure. This enables a safer anaesthetic by supporting blood pressure, preventing dehydration and facilitates early administration of pain relief medications. We also employ state of the art Cardell patient monitoring equipment to continuously monitor vital signs during your pets’ procedure.

In order to provide the best outcome for your pet, it is sometimes recommended that some of the more advanced procedures are performed by specialist surgeons. Specialist referral options can be discussed with the staff at Warners Bay Vet.
